There are a host of unique experiences and activities just on your doorstep when you stay at Burren Court.
Location
We are located on the ‘Burren Way’ in a rural location at the top of Corkscrew Hill, a short drive from Ballyvaughan coastal village. The nearest villages are 10-15 minute drive from Burren Court Holiday Homes, where you can find, shops, great restaurants and Irish pubs. There is a farmers market every Saturday in summer in Ballyvaughan.
Nearby Villages
Ballyvaughan (8 km), Kilfenora (7 km), Lisdoonvarna (8 Km), Doolin (15 km). Ennistymon (17km) all have great places to wine & dine for lunch or dinner. There is a beautiful scenic coastal drive from Ballyvaughan to Doolin and many scenic places to walk and cycle on our doorstep.
Restaurants and Bars
Monks Seafood restaurant, Hylands Burren Hotel and O'Lochlainn's Irish Whiskey Bar are all excellent places to eat and listen to music in Ballyvaughan village. If you find yourself over in Kilfenora Vaughan’s Pub and restaurant is well worth checking out.

Guided walks can be booked through ‘Burren Experience Guided Walks’ or ‘Walk with Pius’.
Cycling
Bikes can be hired from e-whizz electric bikes’ in Ennistymon, to cycle through the Burren countryside. ‘The Falls Hotel’ in Ennistymon offers very good food and has an indoor swimming pool and there are excellent beaches for sea swimming at Lahinch and Fanore.
Visitor Attractions
We are situated 15-20 minute drive from Ailwee Cave and Birds of Prey, Poulnabrone Dolmen, Caherconnell Fort and Sheepdog Demonstrations, Doolin Cave and Burren Perfumery and 1 hour drive from Bunratty Castle and Folk Park and 1 hour from Galway city.
We are an ideal base for visiting Doolin (17 km), the Cliffs of Moher and the Aran Islands. Burren Court is 1 hour drive from Shannon Airport and 1 hour from Galway City and 3 hours from Dublin City.
Beaches
There are beautiful beaches at the nearby coast – Bishop’s Quarter Beach (3km from Ballyvaughan}, Fanore Beach (on the coast drive from Ballyvaughan to Doolin) and Lahinch Beach (3km from Ennistymon).
Surfing is available at both Fanore and Lahinch beaches. Surfing, Body boarding and Paddle Boarding can be booked through ‘Aloha Surf School’.
Burren Discovery Trail
